We
simply want to help others

Diana Saillant volunteers as a translator for our Spanish-speaking guests. Without Diana's help, many guests could not communicate with our health clinic staff and social workers who are helping them regain their self-sufficiency.

Diana was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. While growing up, she lived in a Spanish-speaking household. After graduating from high school, she moved to her parents' homeland of the Dominican Republic for 13 years.

Diana lived in Florida for many years. While there, she worked in a private school that counted Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras and Anna Kournikova as alumni. Diana translated for many international parents whose children attended the school.

Diana has lived in Charleston for six years. She now works in the College Counseling department at Porter Gaud School. She enjoys translating and jumped at the opportunity to help Crisis Ministries with her knowledge.

Diana submitted a volunteer application to Crisis Ministries in hopes that she could be of help. She has certainly done that. Our social workers now call her directly when someone needs help.

Thank you, Diana!
